As a copywriter, you need to be a bit of a chameleon. You're jumping from one industry to another, having to absorb and understand the minutiae of each new brand quickly. 

 

For instance, as a 25-year-old gal who barely knows how to replace a flat tire, I am a far cry from the GEARWRENCH, manly-man, auto-tech audience. But, I've scoured tool review videos, scrolled through subreddits and continue to research the industry. I’ve picked up on the vernacular and the inside jokes, and have been able to write social that relates to and engages the GEARWRENCH audience. 

 

As someone who is wildly curious, this need to shape shift is one of the reasons I love copywriting.
